NZ Coffee Festival now OctoberThe inaugural NZ Coffee Festival & Awards will now bring the flavour of espresso to Taupo on October, 22, 23 and 24. Sponsored by BP Connect and Cafe magazine the festival, based at the Great Lake Centre, includes the judging of locally roasted and imported espresso, barista seminars, 40 exhibitors, celebrity appearances, and events involving Taupo's cafes. Robert Harris National Barista AwardsThe hunt is about to start again to find New Zealand's best barista, that individual who can create 12 outstanding espresso based drinks. Semi-finals will be held mid-year in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland, with the finals in Auckland at the Hospitality Fair. The major prize is a trip to compete in the World Barista Championships. The official entry form is in the Autumn Cafe magazine. |
